I am presented with a series of radiographs, which demonstrate morphological abnormalities in the glenoid, scapula and humeral head on the left side. The glenoid appears irregular, exhibits a sloping or indented inferior border, and the scapular neck cannot be confidently discerned.
The humeral head appears hypoplastic, while the acromion is hyperplastic. The lateral end of the clavicle demonstrates a downward hooking configuration.
On the axillary view, the glenoid appears flattened, elongated and sclerotic, likely due to abnormal mechanical stress.
The Y view demonstrates posterior subluxation of the humeral head.
These findings are characteristic of glenohumeral dysplasia.
I would convey the findings to the referring physician and recommend orthopaedic referral, or discussion at orthopaedic MDT.
