Case 1

This is a mammogram study.

The breast density is level B- most tissue is fatty, with scattered areas of fibroglandular density.

There is a mass in the left breast, at the upper outer quadrant – 9 o’clock position; the mass is dense, spiculated, and contains clustered, fine pleomorphic and branching microcalcifications.

There is associated skin thickening anteriorly and architectural distortion. A large, dense left axillary lymph node is noted, showing loss of fatty hilum.

This is an M5 breast lesion, indicating that malignancy is highly likely. The patient must be referred for biopsy, which can be done by ultrasound guidance.
